Tour Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival Bhopal.

Morning flight to Bhopal Excursions to the 02nd century Buddhist Stupas at Sanchi and the 4th-5th century Hindu Cave Temples at Udayagiri. Night stay in pre-booked Hotel at Bhopal.

Day 02: Bhopal to Khajurho (Drive 375 kms / 06 hrs. approx)

Morning after breakfast, drive to Khajuraho (375 km). Upon arrival Check in at Hotel. Afternoon proceed for sighteeing. There are 25 Temples in Khajuraho. Visit the Western Hindu Group of temples (8 temples) with their erotic carvings. Proceed to Southern Hindu group (3 temples) and the nearby Chausath Yogini Temple ; Eastern Jain group (7 temples). Night stay in pre-booked Hotel at Khajuraho.

Day 03: Khajuraho Sightseeing – Orchha (Drive 175 kms / 03 hrs.)

After moring breakfast, Visit Archaeological Museum and State Museum of Tribal Art (opens 10 am). Afternoon check-out from Hotel and Drive towards Orchha. Upon arrial check-in to pre-booked Hotel. Night stay at Hotel in Orchha.

Day 04: Orchha Full day Sightseeing.

Morning : Visit Orchha Fort which almost covers the whole island. It has 3 palaces : Jahangir Mahal (1606), Raj Mahal with mural paintings inside, and Rai Praveen Mahal in the Anand Mahal Gardens. Three important temples in the fort are Ram Raja (originally a palace) linked to Lakshminarayan ; Chaturbhuj with high pointed shikara (roof tower) that rises above the village. There are some other sites of interest including camel stables. Afternoon : See the 14 Royal chatris (cenotaphs) across the Betwa River. Proceed to Jhansi (Uttar Pradesh state, 18 km away) and visit Shankar Fort (1613), Archeological Museum outside the fort, and Rani Mahal (18th century) once the place of Rani Lakshmi Bhai, great heroine of India. Night stay in pre-booked Hotel at Orchha.

Day 05 : Orchha - Chanderi - Orchha.

Drive to Chanderi (120 km from Orchha a picturesque weaving village on a hill, originally a town built by the Mandu sultans, known for its fine saris that are a blend of silk and cotton. We’ ll visit the weavers. There are palaces, temples and forts and their remnants. The Koshak Mahal Palace (1445), Kirtidurga Fort (10th century), Badal Mahal with elegant gateway, jami Masjid and many ruins. Evening back to Orchha and Night stay in pre-booked Hotel at Orchha.

Day 06 : Orchha - Gwalior (By Drive 140 kms / 03 hrs.)

After breakfast, Drive to Gwalior (140 km). On the way visit Sonagiri (65 km from Gwalior) a Jain pilgrimage village with 77 Temples, then to Datia (15 km away) the old Bundela capital among lakes and palaces on the hill. We may stop at a handmade paper recycle factory. Lunch on the way. Night stay in pre-booked Hotel at Orchha.

Day 07: Gwalior Sightseeing.

After morning breakfast, proceed to visit Gwalior Fort with the fine Man Singh Palace (1486 –1516 ), Vikramaditiya Palace (1516), Karan Mandir (also known as Kirtti Mandir) temple (1454 –1479) – the three are interconnected by Galleries, Teli-ka Mandir the earliest (8th –11th century). Night stay in pre-booked Hotel at Gwalior.

Day 08: Gwalior Sightseeing.

Travel north to Uttar Pradesh State to visit archaeological and historical sites. Climb to the hilltop Yogini Temple in Mitawali (one of 4 in all of India) dedicated to the 64 emanations of the Hindu god Siva (37 km from Gwalior). Proceed to the nearby (about 10 minutes’ drive) Padawali Fort, sometimes called mini Khajuraho due to its erotic carvings. Visit Noorabad Bridge over the river Kuwari built by Motimad Khan in the early 17th century under Aurungzeb’ s rule, one of the last Moguls. Lunch time and place to be decided. Return to Gwalior visit Gujari Mahal Palace & Archaeological Museum and Gwalior’ s Jai Vilas 19th century palace. See Gwalior Fort light and sound show. Dinner. Night stay at Hotel in Gwalior.

Day 09: Gwalior to Delhi (By Train).

Afternoon check-out from Hotel and Transfer to Gwalior Railway station to Board train for Delhi.
